Fibro Feelings – Festival Time

What is Fibro Feelings?

This weekend The Helpful Hubby and I went to a festival that was a couple hours away. I packed a cooler full of food that I could eat, but I really missed being able to partake in festival foods. They are one of the best parts! It was nice to get out and do something, even though I was a little stressed about going so far away while on this elimination diet. We saw lots of great photographer booths and nice classic cars during the car show. They even had a doggy babysitter for people to drop their pooches of at. It just so happened that the town the festival was in was also having a street market. So, we looked around that too. The most interesting thing there was someone who was making custom knives on an anvil, right there. By the middle of the day my feet were hurting pretty badly, so sitting during the long car ride home actually felt nice.

The weather was nice all weekend and I planted 14 new plants in our yard. I also spent time straightening, doing laundry and finally replacing my spring decorations with summer ones. One of The Helpful Hubby’s college friends and his wife are coming to stay with us in a week. While I would normally prepare for that for weeks, I’ve just had to roll with the flow due to this elimination diet. On days I feel well enough, I do what I can.

As far as my elimination diet goes, I passed my egg challenge and since we’re not sure about the brown rice bread (yeast) challenge, I will have to retest that one. I miserably failed my sharp cheddar and Swiss cheese (casein) challenge. I was really excited to add cheese back in and felt really good day one of the challenge. Day two was an entirely different story. I was getting such intense cramping that I went back to bed and luckily was able to sleep for a little over two hours. Later in the day I was laying in bed while waiting for a call back. I never got the call though and ended up sleeping for another two hours! I had a few other symptoms, but luckily by evening the cramping was nearly gone. The next morning i was back to feeling good and ready for the next challenge.

Have you gone to any fun festivals, this year?

That’s a bummer about the cheese! I love cheese, but I have to be careful which ones I eat. I love the fact they have a dog baby sitting. WHAT A COOL IDEA!! Glad you had a great time, despite the diet restrictions/preparation.

I love cheese too! I’m interested to see what future dietary recommendations she will have about the casein. (like completely avoid it or just don’t eat a lot of it)
