Fibro Feelings – My Food Adventures

What is Fibro Feelings?

Whew! I had a full week of medical appointments. In the past 10 days I’ve gone to 6 doctor’s appointments! I’m so glad I don’t have any appointments scheduled for the next 3 weeks. Maybe it will feel like a vacation for me?! Well, maybe a really interesting vacation. I just realized that time coincides with the 3 weeks of my elimination diet. My Rheumatologist works with a Registered Dietitian (RD) and she is having me do an elimination diet to check for any food sensitivities. This is different than food allergies, which I have none of. It is a very strict, intense diet, but I’m hoping this process will help me figure out some food related things to help both my fibromyalgia and IBS feel better.

Speaking of IBS, I was at Costco yesterday and saw that they sell Align probiotics in a 63 count box. It was 73 cents/capsule which is 4 cents cheaper/capsule than I usually buy it for. With a coupon, that is an even greater savings! I stocked up on Align and lots of veggies and bananas as well as the usual toilet paper and paper towels. I think Costco dislikes me as much I dislike going to it because almost every time I go there it starts raining really hard right as I’m pulling into the parking lot. I’m not even kidding, when it happened yesterday I started laughing.

For dinner last night I tried a new, easy recipe for the first time. It turned out to be such a flop! Neither The Helpful Hubby nor I can remember the last time I cooked such an icky meal. I’m a pretty good cook, but even the directions for this recipe were off. By the time the chicken finished cooking my snap peas had been done for quite awhile and had turned a muted green color and gotten all wrinkly. Good thing the rice cooker made some excellent brown rice! I could barely eat the rest of the food and we both decided to throw away the left overs. Thank goodness I get one more “normal” redemption meal before I start my elimination diet!

Have you ever cooked something that tasted so badly that even you didn’t want to eat it?
