Fibro Feelings – Welcome to March!
Before I knew it, February was over and March was here! When I think of March I immediately think of two of my friends’ birthdays, St. Patrick’s Day and the luck o’the Irish! With all those four-leaf clovers I’m hoping to get some extra luck this month! I’ll skip celebrating with Guinness, but I might make some shepherd’s pie. Even though I don’t have many St. Patty’s Day decorations, I always change my computer desktop wallpaper to sync with the seasons and the holidays. It only takes a couple minutes and provides me holiday cheer all year long! The Windows 7 operating system even offers a way to save desktop themes (you can also change the window colors), so it literally only takes two clicks! Give it a try and I bet you’ll get some extra cheer!
On a different note, I was surprised by some news today. The Helpful Hubby’s work asked him if we could host one of their employees, who will be visiting from another country. They’d like him to stay at our house for an entire week. While in my heart I’d like to say, “Sure, no problem!” my mind tells me that is probably not a smart idea with my fibromyalgia. It is tough enough for me to host family for that long, let alone a stranger who I’d need to leave a great impression on! There would be a lot more cleaning and entertaining and a lot less down time. I’ve weighed a lot of the pros and cons and I’m hoping that we might be able to host for 3 days instead. Of course, I feel a little guilty saying that.
Oh, speaking of our house – The Helpful Hubby recently gave me a present that I can’t wait to tell you about, after I use it! My gift was an Outlast® mattress cover and blanket, to keep me cool. Our memory foam mattress can get pretty hot at night and sometimes that prevents me from sleeping well. Outlast® explains how it “balances the microclimate under the covers.” like this: “By absorbing your excess heat as it’s created and releasing it as it’s needed, Outlast® comforters/duvets keep you comfortable all night long.” The Helpful Hubby is so thoughtful! I’ll be happy as a clam if these work.
Do you have any St. Patty’s Day plans?

Welcome, Steff! Please feel free to ask me any questions, the first few years of the diagnosis are the toughest – figuring out what things to try and what works best for you. I really appreciate your kind comments – thank you!
