Fibro Feelings – Ok Christmas, NOW I’m Ready for You!
I’m so grateful that my fibromyalgia has stayed mostly in check while I cross things off my holiday to-do list! Sure I’ve had some back pain, wrist pain, foot pain, ankle pain and headaches, but nothing bad enough I’d have to take pain killers! If anything, fatigue has been plaguing me more. I’ve been feeling exhausted, but I’ve also gotten a lot done. In the last week I’ve mailed off boxes and Christmas cards, ordered Christmas gifts online, put Christmas lights on the house and one tree, grocery shopped, cooked, decorated the house, bought, put up and decorated our Christmas tree and more! I’m even having one of The Helpful Hubby’s friends over for dinner tonight. A total success if you ask me!
Last night was The Helpful Hubby’s holiday party for work. I was happy we got there early enough to secure a seat as they only had seating for about half the guests. Having a seat to eat dinner and socialize at made the night much more enjoyable and manageable for me. The party lasted 4 hours, but The Helpful Hubby was having so much fun with his coworkers that I agreed to go to a pub for after hours. We had fun, joking around and laughing for another 2 hours, until we finally headed home. We might have stayed even longer, but I had developed a headache (probably from this sinus infection that I just cannot fully kick) and was no longer having fun. Oh – as a holiday treat we got a free dessert from our waitress at the pub!
When we arrived home, Squeaky was waiting for us, under the Christmas tree. He absolutely loves hanging out under it! After straightening out the tree skirt multiple times, I have given up on keeping it straight. We are lucky that he does not mess with the ornaments or light cords though. If we leave Squeaky for more than a few hours he demands our attention upon our return. He does this by following us around, loudly meowing until we pick him up or put him in our lap. This does not mix well with a pounding headache! It was one of those nights where I just wanted to put on my fleece pants and hop into bed, contacts in, makeup on and all. Of course, I was a good girl and washed my face and took out my contacts first. I’ve gotta take care of my eyes!
