Fibro Feelings – Flower Nursery
Recently, a friend, her kids and I went to check out a nearby nursery that I’d never been to. The place was huge and had apple cider, animals and even vending machines! The one thing they didn’t have were red perennials, which I was looking for. The sun was shinning brightly and I think it was actually the warmest day we’d had so far this year. I picked out a few plants and they only had really dirty plant trays to carry the small pots in. Because I didn’t want to get dirt on my clothes I was holding each end of the tray with my fingers. After a few minutes my wrists really began stiffening up and really hurting! Luckily we found some new cardboard trays a little later. When I switched my plants over it gave me a chance to put my wrist brace on and to hold the box against me. This method of carrying the tray was much better for my wrists.
When I got home I planned on planting the flowers, but my back was hurting even more than it had been earlier than day. I hadn’t been able to figure out why my back was hurting until I reach down for something in my closet. The motion I made surged my pain levels and I realized it was a similar motion to when I mop the floor. I had mopped our floors the day before. Mopping is always hard on my wrists and sometimes my back. On top of my back pain we got the news that a close friend had recently died. The emotional pain of a friend’s life cut short definitely seemed to exacerbate my existing back pain. I started noticing more discomfort in my neck as well. Needless to say, I did not plant my flowers the same day.
