Fibro Feelings – O Christmas Tree
My Christmas tree is up! I love Christmas and live Christmas trees, so this is really exciting to me. Let me say, it is much harder to get/put up a live tree with fibromyalgia while being in the third trimester of pregnancy! I tried to spread it out a bit so we put up our exterior Christmas lights, shopped for and got a tree, put the tree in its stand and put the lights on it on one day. This year I let The Helpful Hubby run the lights around the tree since it requires so much bending. I pretty much just tested lights, got replacement bulbs and fed the cord to him. I mostly did the same thing with the 4 strands of lights we put outdoors too.
The rest of that night I relaxed and I slept in late the next morning. I did have to use the heating pad on my back to ease my pain enough to sleep that night. That next day, after a few loads of laundry, Skyping with family, a few errands and cooking/eating dinner I slowly started decorating the tree. The Helpful Hubby doesn’t enjoy that part, so I did it myself, except for putting the star on the top. It took me the entire night working on and off. I’d sit on the couch and take 20 minute breaks here and there and watch TV. By the end I was fairly sore and super tired, but today I’m feeling great about it! Luckily my body was able to re-cooperate enough at night, although my feet are still a little sore from the standing. I love that I have a pretty tree to look at now and a few more things are marked off my to-do list. All I have left to do for the tree is re-vacuum around it and put the tree skirt down.
Today is one of my scheduled take it easy days. I’ve really got to get some Christmas cards written and in the mail, so that is my only goal. Well, besides adding the tree skirt. I already threw a load of baby clothing in the washer, so I know I’ll have gotten one other thing accomplished too.
Do you schedule in relax/take-it-easy days?

oh yes I try to schedule take it easy days. I normally schedule them for the day before I have major things to do and then I have to schedule a recovery day for after. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Yeah, buffer days on both sides are ideal. Merry Christmas to you too!
