Fibro Feelings – Swollen Fun

What is Fibro Feelings?

What a week! We’ve had house guests and I’ve been driving them all around. My wrists and hips have handled it pretty well, thank goodness! Yesterday was the first day that I REALLY felt the effects – mostly fatigue and pain. For six hours I drove all around the area I live in, checking out the baby consignment/thrift stores for the first time. I got some great deals and had fun looking at all the baby clothes. By hour four my back was really hurting, my legs were totally swollen and my baby bump area was feeling a little sore. Figuring out dinner for six people, some with dietary restrictions, and cooking it would have required more energy than I had, so we ate out. I am really looking forward to a slower day today, especially since Tuesday and Wednesday are busy.

I recently got some prescription strength compression stockings, but I forgot to put them on in yesterday morning. I had to get new compression gear because after I got pregnant I ended up stretching out the Tommie Copper calf compression sleeves that I had since my swelling was constantly so bad. My new ones aren’t quite as comfy and are kind of difficult to put on, but they work and they’re toeless. I’m looking forward to looking less swollen by the end of the day!

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get a massage this year during the Massage Envy Healing Hands for Arthritis event. By the time I heard the date I already was busy most of the day. If you haven’t heard, they’re donating $10 from every one-hour massage and facial session on Wednesday, September 19th to the Arthritis Foundation! I love my massage therapist there and some clinics are even offering free massages to those living with arthritis (check with your local Arthritis Foundation office for details).

Will you be getting a massage on Wednesday?

$10 to the Arthritis Foundation is a great thing!*
