Glitter in our Hearts Forever

Yesterday I heard the devastating news that Monique Millender AKA MoMo, @Messyhappiness, @LoveHopeHeels, @gummiebearpixie had passed away. From what I hear, at the age of 33 she had a heart attack and died the next morning. Her life story is one of endurance and happiness. She faced many challenges, including having fibromyalgia, lupus, reoccurring seizures, infertility and a miscarriage. She truly had to learn how to strongly advocate for her own health after some horrible doctors had put some incorrect information in her charts.

She was lucky to have an amazing husband, James, always by her side, encouraging her, helping her out and offering stuffed animals. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. Through it all she managed to support other spoonies and she always took the time to thank others for supporting her during tough times. She had a huge heart and loved to laugh, something that came through in all of her blog posts. She liked making graphic tag images, like the one below, and wrote inspirational messages on her hand. When that became challenging she started typing inspiring messages on a picture of her hand!

We hadn’t talked as much this year due to obstacles on both sides, but luckily we had the chance to catch up a bit over the past 4 months. The pregnancy hormones have made handling this even harder and my heart ached for her as I was at pregnancy class getting a tour of the maternity ward. I knew how much Monique’s miscarriage weighed on her and it didn’t seem right to be excited for a new life when I’m in such sorrow for loosing another. Loosing her is a huge loss for the online spoonie community, something those in her offline life may not have realized the extent of until today. I feel like this post doesn’t nearly give her justice, but it’s all I can piece together in this stunned state.

Monique asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Lupus Foundation of America. Her sister-in-law created a Facebook page to continue spreading lupus awareness and share information with her friends.

This means so much to us. Thank you so much, you can not imagine how much we appreciate this.

She would want you to be happy, she would never want you to feel guilty about that. She was so excited for you.

Thanks for writing this Sweetie. I know how hard it was for you. And I’m crying the tears I promised yesterday!

Your sweet baby has an angel watching over him or her…we all do.

xoxo Cindy @MomBto3

I hate to let you all know this but Monique is NOT dead, it has already been proven. Praying that she gets the much needed help that she very much needs. On September 11th, we were rocked by the news that Monique Millender, a young woman battling Lupus, died. A candle light vigil was held in her memory and monies were donated to the family as many mourned her death.
Monique is in fact alive and well. I stayed out of the rumors that were circulating on FB until I had solid proof for myself. A phone call was made to her local police department and an officer said he has spoken directly with Monique and she is alive and well.
I am happy that she is not dead but I am saddened at the pain she has caused so many.
I know this information will anger many of you, and rightly so, but I ask that as you express yourself, please keep it clean!
Much love & Hugs! ♥

Why do you think she is alive and well? Did you speak to that police officer? Please give me more details of your side of this.

I have spoke to the police MYSELF. here you can call and talk to someone here is the number… Henderson county sheriff’ dept. at 903-675-5128. I was one of the people who got the police involved. there was a lot of unanswered questions regarding her death. Like no obituary and the lack of information that her “family” would give if questioned. If you googled any of her family members you would see that they didn’t exists. Nikkie Lott or her sister in law do not exists. So we called the local police dept and they did some investigation and found there was no record of her death. No death certificate no record at the local hospital or even corner. Then they called her husband and got Mo’s phone number (she didn’t even bother to change it after her “death”) And we were told by a detective that he actually spoke to both Mo and her husband and that she is very much a live. they are still investigating her to see if she received any of the money people donated to her family if so she will be charged with fraud. I know it is hard to believe but please if you don’t believe any of this call the police dept yourself I even provided the phone number if you don’t think that is the real number then google the Henderson county sheriff dept in Texas and then call the number and ask to speak to the office in charge of the Monique case I know they have transferred the case to another office but the office who started this is named office baker. check for yourself.

Thank you for providing further details about this and giving us information to find out more. It all seems pretty shocking.

Hi Felicia, you may remember me from Twitter. I was grieving Monique so badly, so deeply. It brought up a lot of PTSD incidents for me, which affected me lupus. She has no idea how she has hurt so many, and now I hear of money being sent to her. I just couldn’t belive that she’d leave the interey forever. her art is so amazing and very signatured/unique, so that if she ever drew a picture in the future, most of us would know “this is a Monique drawing!” I only found this thread because I was missing her again and decided to look up her obituary. There was nothing, but this thread DID show up. It seemed odd at firstto see no obit, cuz I canfind obits of people from 20+ years ago, and obits of people who hadonly 2 sentences, like “____ died from a heart attack on July 24, will have a private ceremony at home only.” But there’s nothing — nothing about Monique. I wish I understood. I also looked for Nikki Lott when she closed the glitter page and her own FB page. How could she lie for so long and sympathize with us and comfort us and see how we were grieving so deeply, etc,. I guess she finally couldn’t, which is why she’s dropped off the radar. I’m happy she is still alive. If she took money under the pretense of funeral costs, that is fraud. May she get the psychological help she needs, and may God forgive her for how she has hurt so many people so deeply.

Nikki Lott is Mo and Mo is back at it again but instead of lupus groups she is going after infant death groups, cancer groups and domestic violence groups she didn’t even bother to use a different name. So yes she is still the scam artist.
