Fibro Feelings – R&R with Lavender
Crossing my fingers DID work! I have had less headaches this past week. The Helpful Hubby and I met some friends for happy hour and dinner one night, which ended up being over three hours of fun and good food. It was a lot of fun and we got to catch up with some friends that we hadn’t seen in awhile. That evening and next day I was exhausted though. The next day pretty much ended up being a recovery only day. All the driving I’d done caused my leg/hip area to get aggravated and hurt. After one day of rest I was feeling good enough to get my grocery shopping done as well as a few other errands.
Over the weekend The Helpful Hubby and I took some time out to enjoy the sun by hitting up a local summer fair. I can’t eat most vendor type food since soy is in so many things, but I did find one gem. I’ve been looking for a mint-lavender soy candle for years. That aromatherapy combination is one of my favorites, but it is hard to find. The few I’d found online and had on my wish list for Christmas in years past were over $15 and I got this one for ~$10. Can you believe I’ve already forgotten the exact amount?! Thanks fibro fog. Even though it’s warm out, I’m burning my new candle and loving the scent while I write this. My hip/leg area was hurting quite a bit when we got home that evening, but I was a good girl and iced it before I went to bed. Now it’s doing fairly well. In fact, I am sort of surprised how well it is doing considering all the walking we did.
When I was cleaning out all that old stuff last week I found my old aromatherapy eye pillow. It was part of a Bed Bath & Beyond gift set someone had given me in college. It is a heavier eye pillow that is full of lavender and other calming herbs. I used it a few mornings this week when I was trying to block out the early morning sunshine and it worked well. It’s like I got a new gift!
Do you have a favorite aromatherapy scent?

Where did you find a lavender-mint candle? That’s my favorite combo, and the one combo that helps with my headaches. I combine the essential oils in a spray, or just combine the oils on a handkerchief when I have a headache but would love to find a candle!

I’ve heard of this one. And heard of it for migraines as well, since I have chronic migraines. But I loath lavender. lol I think it is too strong, or flowery but either way it gives me a migraine. I seem to like pepermint and eccalyptus migraine balms, the scent as much as the soothing aspect to them.

Even for me, sometimes lavender scents can be produced in a way that is to musky for me to enjoy, but I do still like many of them. Sorry to hear they give you migraines! I have a candle that is peppermint eucalyptus too and I love that one as well.
