Fibro Feelings – Working Around My Headaches
This past week seemed super busy, but I think that is mostly because I felt like I was behind in what I wanted to accomplish, not because I was busy. Between Wednesday and Sunday I had a bad headache for more than 55 hours. It was at its worst Wednesday through Friday afternoons. I went to a local Arthritis Foundation conference (I’ll be writing more on that soon) and developed a headache sometime during the last speaker. I was SO ready to get home, but not to drive the 45 minutes to get there! I also had to stop on the way home and pick up cat food because Squeaky was going to run out. Once I got home, I crashed on the couch in pain and that is where The Helpful Hubby found me when he got home.
The next morning I went to the doctors, met up with a friend for a few hours and got a bang trim. I love how a nice bang trim can extend the time of a needed hair cut by another few weeks! I was hoping to stop by the grocery store on my way home, but my head was hurting too much. I came home, with the hopes of resting 1-2 hours and then going back out to at least get a rotisserie chicken for dinner. After an hour of sitting in the dark I realized relief was not coming soon, changed clothes and asked The Helpful Hubby to bring one home with him. Thankfully, he obliged.
As I spent most of my days sitting in dark rooms, trying not to move much and using ice packs on my head, I wasn’t getting much else accomplished. My to-do list was getting longer and my house was getting dirtier. Then, I had a break from pain on Saturday! I was able to straighten up, do dishes, vacuum some and finally sold an item I’d been wanting to get rid of on Craigslist. My back was sore at the end of the day, but it felt mostly better by morning. Half of my Sunday was consumed with a headache, but the second half wasn’t! I was able to dead-head flowers in my garden and even do a little sorting some old stuff/junk. I feel so much better now, mentally and physically and my fingers are crossed that this will continue into the upcoming week.
How’s your week gone?

I love those barrettes! So cute! I too am plagued with headaches that last for days, they do make u feel like crap don’t they? I just do what I can when I get a break from the pain, and rest when I’m able. If I’m at work with one, I just have to suck it up and just keep on moving and pray for 5 o’clock to arrive so I can go home and collapse. I know exactly what you’re going through – it happens to me more often than I’d like to admit and I do try to stay away from my migraine triggers – strong perfumes, certain foods, etc.

I hope you are feeling better . I have the headaches too. All I can do is go to bed with the room and lay in the quiet for as much as I can. I use to use icy hot on my neck and shoulders which would help now it just sits me on fire.

Sorry to hear headaches/migraines are still bothering you so frequently. Mine aren’t migraines. They’re really bad headaches, which effect me almost as badly.
