Fibro Feelings – The End is in Sight!
This week has continued to be a week of recovery from our house guests. While more of the soreness has gone away I’m still feeling some fatigue. Even with that, The Helpful Hubby and I decided to re-stain our porch last weekend. Call me crazy. We meant to do it last year, but never were able to put it at the top of our priorities. It looks so much better now that it is done. My back and feet were hurting afterward, but most of the pain was gone by the next day. We’re hoping to do some more house work this weekend, before our next round of house guests arrive. Since I was still feeling tired this week, I focused on doing less physical tasks, overall. I got caught up on thank you notes that I’d been meaning to send for weeks, made phone calls to businesses and finally replied to emails in my inbox.
Since I last told you which food challenges I have passed during my elimination diet I have these to add: mozerella, sulfites, nightshades, milk chocolate and sugar. I met with my RD again and we decided not to do the 1-3 month process of killing off the yeast in my body to see if I have a problem with it. While we are suspecting that I do, I have house guests staying with us for over a week somewhat soon and I can’t be on a super restricted diet then. She also said that it is common that people feel worse during the time of the die-off of yeast and I don’t have time for that before my guests arrive. I may do this exploration into yeast at a later date, as it does not require the three weeks of detox that this elimination diet has.
I only have a few food challenges left and I’m super excited! I’m so glad to be building my diet back up. I was actually able to have a sandwich with regular wheat bread, lettuce, turkey and mustard for dinner tonight! It was delicious! For the first time in months going to the grocery store was actually exciting. I got to buy foods I haven’t had in what feels like forever.
