Fibro Feelings – Progress Report

What is Fibro Feelings?

I realized that I’ve left you guys hanging on the end results of a few things I’ve told you about so today’s post is dedicated to filling you in! I’ll be writing about my wrists, sprained ankle, colonoscopy results and more.

You may have noticed that I haven’t been talking too much about my wrists lately. I’m super excited to report that besides a few days here and there, my wrists have been feeling good for months! I was even able to edit hundreds of photos last month without an issue. I spaced my editing out, but even that has caused problems before. I need to get back to working on my strengthening exercises again, just to be sure I stay in this condition. Please yell at me if I don’t! =)

My sprained ankle is healing up nicely. It rarely hurts now. I was super diligent at RICEing it, even beyond the first week. Certain activities would cause it to swell back up and I’d baby it for a few days afterward. After about four weeks it quit swelling, but would still hurt when I did things like twist my foot to put it in a shoe or if I rested my foot on our ottoman a certain way. My doctor told me it could continue doing that for up to 6 months with a severe sprain! I had no clue severe sprains could take that long to fully heal.

The last three weeks I have been battling a sore back due to our intense gardening day followed shortly by my conference. It was starting to do better until I needed to use a Rug Doctor last week to clean a horrid spaghetti stain. I’d much rather have a sore back for another week than have a permanently stained carpet though! Someone, who will remain nameless (not me!), spilled an entire plate of spaghetti onto the carpet leaving an ~6 inch stain with splatter an entire foot out. I was able to get the stain from a red to an orange color with Resolve, but had to bring in the big dog (the Rug Doctor) to get it all the way out. Luckily, my back is already bouncing back from that and I think I’m about ready to get biking again! Woo-hoo! I’ve been anxiously waiting for good weather to coincide we me feeling good.

During my colonoscopy they hadn’t visually seen any inflammation, but we were waiting on my biopsy results to confirm that fact. I later got a letter confirming that all my biopsies came back normal and that no precancerous polyps had been present! Perfecto! I’m happily celebrating the fact I may never have to do a colonoscopy prep again! My Gastroenterologist thinks that by the time I hit a regular preventive screening age doctors won’t be doing colonscopies, for that reason, any longer.

How do you clean stains from your carpets?

Alas, I must have a colonoscopy every year with my crohns. My fibro is secondary to that, so to speak. Next Friday…and not too soon as I am in serious pain from my gut and fibro

Does everyone with Crohn’s have to get a colonoscopy every year? If so, I did not realize that. I hope yours is helpful and that your prep is not too horrible!

I’m so glad to hear that things are looking up right now. Can’t wait to hear about your first bike ride of the season … and maybe see some pictures from along the bike path too???

I am excited too, I’m hoping the weather and my body cooperate for a ride this weekend! I’ll try to take some pics when I do go riding.
