Fibro Feelings – Wildlife & Jelly Beans!
Well, I didn’t exactly make it to a National Park this weekend, but it WASN’T because of my fibromyalgia! It was because of the icky weather. The day before The Helpful Hubby and I realized the nearby National Parks were going to be rainy, so we decided to plan a different adventure. We drove in the opposite direction and even though there was a chance of rain it didn’t rain on our parade! We drove to a state park, in the rain, but the rain stopped 10-15 minutes before we arrived. We had gorgeous sunny weather for the rest of our day! We were both happy that we hadn’t let the chance of rain stop us. We enjoyed spending time together walking, hiking and driving around the park. As far as wildlife goes, we saw six deer and some type of crane bird. Around the middle of the day we took a break for lunch in a nearby town. All-in-all we were walking/hiking around for ~4 hours.
My back was hurting fairly badly before lunch and I was keeping an eye on it, making sure I’d be ready to take a pain killer before the pain was too much for me to handle. Luckily, it was feeling much better after we’d been sitting for lunch. I regretted not bringing along my Sombra Natural Pain Relieving Gel though. It would have eased up my pain. At some points I could feel some pain in my left knee, but nothing too severe. The only thing that was sore for days afterward was some small muscle in my upper legs. Just uncomfortable and sore though, definitely worth the fun of our day together!
We also said good bye to The Helpful Hubby’s visiting co-worker who was our house guest for 4 days. At some point I should probably think about cleaning up the guest room and bathroom. Hmm… It was neat to see the things he found interesting about America. He liked that people (for the most part) are very friendly to others, even if they don’t know them. He used examples of smiling at people on the street, waiters and waitress being nice and people not smoking right on top of you in public. He really liked Mexican food and was amazed that such a thing existed as alcoholic energy drinks! The one American food he wanted to take back to his co-workers, family & friends was Jelly Belly jelly beans! We couldn’t figure out what “small, fruit flavored candy” he was talking about, so we took him to a candy store. It has been a fun week, but I’m ready for some good sleep!
Are you a jelly bean fan?

I agree, there is nothing quite like the sights, sounds and smells of nature!
