Fibro Feelings – Spring has Sprung!
Spring has officially begun and sunshine has been in my forecast! I haven’t gotten out in the sun too much, but I’ve been enjoying the rays shinning through my windows. It helped pump me up to decorate for Easter yesterday. The Helpful Hubby helped me re-arrange and get out the plastic tubs of decor, which makes it so much easier on my back! Now that the house is decorated I’m in full-on Spring mode. Awhile back I addressed and put stamps on my Easter cards, so now I just have to write them out sometime in the next couple weeks.
Besides having an adverse IBS reaction to my lunch, I spent a lot of today straightening the house. You may remember me mentioning that The Helpful Hubby’s visiting co-worker might be staying with us for awhile. Well, it seems he will probably be here for 3-4 days, next month. I really wish they would finalize the dates so I could plan more accurately, but that just isn’t happening. He arrived in town last weekend and we’re having him over to dinner tomorrow night. Besides welcoming him, I figured that will give me a deadline to get everything cleaned up to my standard for guests. Then, I just have to keep it that way for 3 weeks until he probably stays with us! I’m making lasagna and salad so all the kitchen work can be finished before he arrives for dinner. It will also provide me with leftovers in case I need to re-cooperate the following day. Oh, the other nice thing is that I will be introducing a new food to our dinner guest. He has never had lasagna before!
Speaking of things that aren’t often consumed – I drank a Diet Pepsi semi-recently. About an hour later I was worrying I had become diabetic. I’m not even kidding with that statement. My hands were shaking so much that I was having a hard time wrapping/folding dumplings and my body just felt odd, even somewhat nauseous. Since it was before dinner I was worried my body’s reaction was blood-sugar related. It wasn’t until The Helpful Hubby realized I’d had a soda that we put it together. Holy cow! Can you believe one can of soda can cause so much ruckus?! While I don’t completely avoid caffeine usually, I do try to limit caffeinated beverages. This is because I don’t want to make my quality of sleep any worse and because it can irritate my IBS.
Have you ever had such a strong reaction to a caffeinated beverage?

I can’t drink caffeine either – I feel like a shaky mess after. I think it has something to do with my meds speeding up the absorption of it, plus I have one those ohh so sensitive bodies. If I have caffeine I feel like I could run through a brick wall ha ha

Yes, I am sensitive to it too. After my husband mentioned the soda, I immediately realized this was a lesser version of how I responded the one and only time I tried to take a caffeine pill to pull an all-nighter, my freshmen year of college. I was a wreck that time and I never touched a caffeine pill again.
