Fibro Feelings – Enjoying the Icing in Life

What is Fibro Feelings?

Last weekend was gorgeous and great! Friday night I was feeling pretty tired, so we decided last minute to go out to dinner and had some deep dish pizza. YUM! On Saturday the sun was shining and the views were great! The Helpful Hubby and I met a group of friends for a late brunch at a new restaurant in town. We had a great time and afterward we went hung around, looking at shops downtown and even stopped for cupcakes! For me, the creamy icing is always the BEST part of a cupcake! My back was hurting when we got home, but not too badly and definitely worth the full day of fun! After all that splurging on food, I have made sure to make healthy meals at home since then.

Sunday I was feeling worn out and even a little icky, so The Helpful Hubby and I took it pretty easy. I realized that I’d slightly tweaked my ankle, so I was trying to keep it propped up. Besides cooking dinner, I did some magazine reading and tested my strength in not using a computer. (My laptop cord broke last Thursday and the replacement cord didn’t arrive until today.) I always thought having my “couch laptop” was just a convenience, but now realize I may be slightly dependent on it! It really helps me feel like I can accomplish things while letting my body relax on the couch. I now appreciate my couch laptop oh-so-much more! Before going to bed I got my laugh on, finally watching The Hangover for the first time. Now I’m all ready for the sequel to come out!

It was great to get a bonus weekend day with The Helpful Hubby, due to the holiday. After lunch we headed out for 4 hours of errand running. Isn’t it amazing how running errands with someone you love and have fun with makes the whole process MUCH more enjoyable? We hit up Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Lowes, Costco, the grocery store and a friends’ place. I know that I proved that I’m an adult because I was super excited about the shoe rack we bought (with a 20% off coupon) to put next to the garage entrance. There is no longer a pile of The Helpful Hubby’s shoes for me to trip on or to tweak my ankle on! Hurray!

How do you enjoy the icing in life?

I’m really trying to make time to enjoy the things I love most – spending time with the hubby, reading, even blogging has become a great joy to me. Just small things help get me through the day and makes me forget about the fibro just for a little while.
