Fibro Feelings – Having Good Days!

What is Fibro Feelings?

I’m so grateful that I have been having a string of good days lately! I’ve been able to do many things that I’ve been wanting to do for weeks. Being able to do these things helps me feel more like myself and happier! I haven’t worn any kind of wrist brace in over a week either! I’ve done laundry and lots of various cleaning and straightening around the house, gone to a college alumni football game watch, prepared and cooked meals (including having a friend over for dinner), rode the recumbent bike, trimmed flowers in the yard, ran errands, got a haircut, hung signs for my local Arthritis Walk, and even more!

Now that my wrists are feeling better I’ve been exercising them with tools I have from previous occupational therapy. I use a progressive putty that you can make stronger by adding strengthening pellets to. It is like silly putty, but much bigger and stronger and hard to flatten out or bend around and play with. Another tool I use is a simple ball that I squeeze in my palm. This last tool is a grip strengthening devise that uses strong rubber-bands instead of metal coils. There are stronger strengths of bands to use as your wrists get stronger.

Yesterday was was an EXHAUSTING day for me! I slept decently for an entire 10.5 hours the night prior, something that my body rarely can do. When I got up my body still felt completely worn out, but my mind was ready for more than laying in bed. After spending some time online, eating lunch and watching some TV I still felt like my body weighed five tons, my eyelids maybe ten pounds alone. Five hours after getting out of bed I finally mustered up enough energy to walk upstairs and take a shower. Afterward I spent three minutes trying to get “smudged mascara” off from under my eyes only to realize that it was actually my naturally dark circles! LOL! Three hours later I was back to constantly yawning and feeling tired. On top of my fatigue my IBS was also slightly acting up with cramping and bloating throughout the day. About the only productive things I got done all day were 1 load of laundry at night and washing a handful of dishes in the afternoon.
