Fibro Feelings – Busy Day!

What is Fibro Feelings?

I had a busy, tiring, but wonderful day the other day! I had groggily woken up with a sore and stiff back. I started the day editing some pictures from our trip, straightening my desk, finishing dusting and vacuuming our upstairs and cleaning the master bathroom. I did all this BEFORE lunch! Sometime around lunch is when my back started feeling better. I had planned on doing more of the cleaning the day before, but it didn’t happen. It felt so good to have the upstairs cleaned up! I was bummed when the self propel function on my vacuum burned out during the last room I was vacuuming. This immediately reminded me why that feature is a must-have for me! By the way, do you have any vacuum recommendations?

I took a shower, had lunch with The Helpful Hubby, relaxed for a little bit, got my bangs trimmed at the salon and then met a friend at Starbucks. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and caught up, we hadn’t seen each other for almost a month! I also enjoyed my first iced mocha non-fat with whip cream of the summer, which my IBS handled well! My IBS often gets upset if I try to drink a latte. I couldn’t believe how quickly 3 hours passed!! I felt like we had just been chatting an hour. While we talked I had horrible word-recall from fibro fog, but we got through it!

After we said our goodbyes I did my weekly grocery shopping, went by the pharmacy, then came home and put the groceries away. That was the most non-stop day I’ve had since returning from vacation. Who knows if I would have made it without the extra energy push from the coffee. After dinner, the rest of the evening was spent on the couch.

I want to give a quick update on a few Switzerland trip details. I went to the doctor last week and my doctor thinks the extreme swelling I had was mostly from salt! Almost all the food in Switzerland was very salty (or sour) and I had also drank some Gatorade G2s. My doctor says that my kidneys probably just hit a tipping point where they were overloaded with salt and couldn’t excrete enough, thus my body started retaining lots of fluid. My swelling didn’t go completely down until 24 31 days after it started! My doctor also thinks that I had some lesser-degree of altitude sickness and am probably more susceptible to that, go figure. I will be bringing some diuretics with me for any future high-altitude or salt-loving region trips!

The self propel is now off for good!
