Fibro Feelings – New Biking Accessories

What is Fibro Feelings?

A few days ago I was able to get in my first real bike ride of the season. The Helpful Hubby and I rode 11.5 miles in the sun along a paved trail. Last season this ride would’ve been fairly easy, but since it was my first ride this year it required quite a few stops. We rode against the wind on the way back. I really despise the wind! Sometimes I wonder if I will ever actually enjoy biking in the wind. Does anybody enjoy it? Hmm…

I was excited to try out my two new biking accessories for this year’s riding – a bell and some padded shorts.  I got Canari black gel padded shorts from REI in hopes my sit bones would hurt less while riding. My sit bones started hurting 2 miles into the ride, so I pretty much wrote off the fact the shorts were worth while. It seems they really did help though! Instead of my sit bones hurting for 3+ days, they only hurt for 1.5 days. Even when they were hurting after riding, they didn’t hurt nearly AS much as they usually do.  My Incredibell Jellibell is easier to ring than most bells and cute!

The highlight of the ride was seeing a bald eagle soaring, brown bunnies hopping, birds singing and Canadian geese and their fuzzy gosling eating. Seeing animals in nature always makes me happy, especially when they are cute babies! When we got home The Helpful Hubby put our bikes away while I cooked shepherd’s pie for dinner. We were both were pretty tired so we spent the rest of the night on the couch. The next morning my alarm went off and my whole body was mentally and physically fatigued. I decided to promptly shut the alarm off and sleep until my body was ready to get up. My body really needed rest, I slept later than I’ve slept in for years -11:30am!
